Our letter to the government on renewable energy
We have seen an increase in the number of requests and questions about whether wind farms / turbines / solar panels can be held in SIPPs. As the current legislation stands, wind turbines and solar panels are not allowed under the tangible, moveable property (TMP) rules.
However the government are actively encouraging people to invest in renewable energy sources via grants, subsidies etc.
We have therefore sent a letter to the Minster of State for Climate Change Gregory Baker, and the Mininster for Pensions Steve Web lobbying for a common sense exemption to the current legislation.
